Synopsis:

This performance will take you on an epic journey alongside migratory birds as they connect continents and cultures. A cinematic concert experience, Life on Land's Edge draws on art, science, and music from across the ages. Spectacular footage and soundscapes set the scene for two of Australia's most outstanding musicians. Be immersed in one of nature's greatest stories.

This concert celebrates the 20th Anniversary of the East Asian-Australian Flyway Partnership (EAAFP) and is presented in association with the EAAFP and BirdLife International.

About the artists:
The Bowerbird Collective makes art for nature. Their work, hailed as "spectacular" by Limelight Magazine, has received international acclaim, and their ARIA-nominated albums of threatened bird, frog and mammal calls, 'Songs of Disappearance', reached the top of the Australia's pop charts ahead of Taylor Swift, Adele, ABBA and Ed Sheeran. They have appeared at prestigious events and concert halls throughout the world, including WOMAD, the Woodford Folk Festival, the Canberra International Music Festival, the Carmel Bach Festival, and Climate Week in NYC, and hold close collaborative relationships with international conservation organisations, including BirdLife International.

Simone Slattery (violin/vocals, Australian National Academy of Music, PhD, Churchill Fellow) and Anthony Albrecht (cello, The Juilliard School, PhD) are internationally renowned musicians, specialising on both period and modern instruments. Both have appeared as Principal players with international ensembles including Il Pomo d'Oro (Italy), Ruckus (USA), Pinchgut Opera, Van Diemen's Band and the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra.
